ENVIRONMENTAL
HEALTH STORY OF THE YEAR AWARD
Purpose
The purpose of this award is to give recognition to the print,
television, and radio media for excellent and accurate coverage of
environmental health issues. The
distribution of information has always been a team effort between public
health and the media to best serve the public.
Policy
It shall be the policy of this Association to only make this award
to nominated individuals meeting the eligibility criteria stated in this
section. If in the judgment
of the Committee or Board of Directors, none of the nominated individuals
meet the criteria, no award shall be made in that year.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this award, the nominee(s) must:
1.
Be a member, or team of members, of the news media;
2.
Have written or presented a story to a broad public audience that
provided information of environmental health (not environmental
protection) importance during the calendar year preceding the Annual
Educational Conference where the award is presented; and
3.
Not have been a previous recipient of the award.
