Sage Park appointed Central Region director for Ecology

Washington Department of Ecology Director Maia Bellon has appointed Sage Park as the director of the agency’s central regional office in Union Gap.

Park, who has been the Water Resources section manager at the central regional office, will start her new job Oct. 16. She will replace James Rivard, who has been interim director since Tom Tebb became director of the Office of Columbia River this summer.

“Sage has an outstanding resume for the regional director role,” Bellon said. “She brings to the job effective working relationships with tribal and local government leaders in the region. These will be key as we work on complex and challenging projects across the seven central region counties.”

Park has a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography from Central Washington University. At Ecology, she has worked in the Air Quality, Waste to Resources and Water Resources programs. She also has worked in various roles for both Kittitas and Yakima counties. Congratulations, Sage! Read more...
